Chapter 1- सूरदास पद:
Surdas was a very intelligent and amazing poet who wrote a lot of amazing poems that showed
society a clear mirror. These poems involved the image of the society most mythologically and
some of these poems are given for the students to understand in this chapter.

Chapter 2- तुलसीदास-राम-लक्ष्मण-परशुराम संवाद:
In this chapter, a rare conversation between Ram, Laxman, & Parshuram is shown to the
students. Students can learn a lot of things from this conversation because it consists of some
very deep and important thoughts that can increase the productivity of a person’s values and

Chapter 5- सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी ‘निराला’ – उत्साह अट नाहीं रही है:
In this poem, Suryakant Tripathi considered clouds, not as the lightning ones but the
revolutionary ones. He considers that the sound of clouds is just like a revolutionary slogan that
makes you realize the importance of freedom and getting hold of your life and choices. Poet is
trying to give the message of modern protest to the next generation through this poem.

Chapter 6- नागार्जुन – यह दांतुरीत मुस्कान, फसल:
This poem is based on the term ‘Danturit’ which means the time when a child starts getting his
first tooth. The smile that the child showers with this small first tooth are one of the most
beautiful things in the world and this exact thing is explained in this chapter very poetically. A
danturit kid smiling makes the whole world smile with it for sure & this is what the poet wants
to tell through this poem.

Chapter 7- गिरिजाकुमार माथुर – छाया मत छूना:
This poem gives a lesson to the students that they should never ignore or runoff from their life
problems. A person who keeps running from their problems can never overcome them and
move ahead in his life. For getting success in your life, you should forget your past, live in your
present, and have goals for your future.

Chapter 8- ऋतुराज – कन्यादान:

Women empowerment is showcased in the best possible way through this poem to today’s
generation. Today’s women are not sensitive and can show utmost strength whenever
necessary. However, providing them with the required opportunities and supporting their
wings is the only thing that they expect from their loved ones, like family members, partners,
etc. This exact thing is made understood by the students by this poem.

Chapter 9- मंगलेश डबराल – संगतकार:
This poem focuses on the efforts and dedication of the side performance in making anything
possible. It may be your colleagues helping you to make a presentation, some background
dancers supporting the lead dancer, or a background singer supporting the main singer in the
chorus. The work of all these people goes unnoticed but they are equally dedicated to their

Chapter 10- स्वयं प्रकाश – नेताजी का चशमा:
This chapter explains the dedication of a specsman who has a lot of passion for his country. He
always used to make a separate spec free of cost for the statue of Netaji and this dedication to
the nation was appreciated by everyone. Today’s generation needs to know the struggles that
the freedom fighters did to bring this pleasurous day in our lives and that is why learning this

Chapter 11- रामवृक्ष बेनीपुरी – बालगोबिन भगत:

Chapter 14- मन्नू भंडारी – एक कहानी यह भी:

her in her goals and guides her to achieve them with extreme hard work.

Chapter 15- महावीरप्रसाद द्विवेद – स्त्री-शिक्षा के विरोधी कुतर्को का खंडन:
This chapter explains the importance of girl education & how some people are strictly against
their education just because they are female. Many people in the world think that women are
just made to get married and work as housewives 24/7 selflessly. This is what many people
expect but when even a single girl tries to go against this thinking, they are considered
uncultured and is treated very badly. All this is reflected in much detail in this chapter so that
students can get a reality check of the society and develop some respect for women and their

Chapter 16- यातींद्र मिश्र – नौबतखने मे इबादत:
This chapter tells us about the story of Bismillah Khan who was a very popular flute player. His
birthplace is Dumrao Gaon and he has made a lot of effects to achieve his musical dream and
reach his goal. After this, the chapter also gives us some explanation of what a flute is and how
is its composition. Everything about a flute is mentioned in detail in this chapter and by learning

Chapter 17- भदंत आनंद कौसल्यायन – संस्कृति:
